Here's a fun and quick party decoration idea you can make for a birthday party or any other special event.

Materials Needed:

a pipecleaner

a nice decoration to hang from the pipecleaner (here I used a plastic flower)

the top (lid) of a plastic bottle

some yarn to cover the base

glue

a tube or pencil

1. First, take the pipecleaner and the tube/pencil and and twist the pipecleaner around it, to create a spiral look.

2. Next, glue the pipecleaner into the inside of the bottle top.

3. At the end of the pipecleaner glue your decoration or letter.

4. Finally, cover the base of the bottle with yarn. My choice was pompon yarn.

Have a lot of fun and have some lovely parties!

Some ideas on how to use these...

I can imagine these decorating the tables at a special birthday party. For instance, if you are throwing a 50th birthday party you could use gold glitter pipecleaners and hang a "50" charm from each one. The "50" could be made using scrapbook stickers on cardstock or numbers cut using a die-cutting machine, like a Cricut.

Or, any holiday would work. Throwing a St. Patrick's day bash? Make these in green with little shamrocks hanging off them. Or hearts for Valentine's Day.

You could even make them as place name holders at the Thanksgiving table!
