Beaded Bell Ornament

This entire beaded bell ornament is made out of seed beads, wire, and a little ribbon and a few jingle bells. It takes some patience to thread all the seed beads on, but kids love to do this part. Then, an adult can help for the later steps. This delicate ornament adds a lot of sparkle to the tree.

Things Needed:
  • Gold, silver, or any color of choice, package of seed beads
  • Beading wire
  • Cord for hanging (I used red)
  • 2 small jingle bells
  • Small piece of ribbon for bow (I used red)
  • Scissors or wire cutters

1. Thread seed beads on the beading wire until you have about a 2 foot length of wire, full of seed beads. At the ends, secure the wire by knotting or wrapping the wire several times around the last seed bead.

2. Start wrapping your length of wire back and forth to form rows, approximately 13 rows. The first row should be about one inch in length, then have each row get a little longer until the last row is about 2.5 inches. It will look funny and won’t stay together, but once you get past step 3 it really begins to take shape

3. Cut two lengths of wire, about 6 inches each. Take one wire, and begin on one side. Thread the wire through the last seed bead on each end of the row. This will hold this entire side together. Wrap the wire, or knot it, to keep it in place and cut off the excess. Then, repeat the process with the other wire on the other side. You should now have a bell shape

4. Thread two jingle bells through another small piece of wire, and wrap the wire around the bottom middle of the bell. Add a cord for hanging and a ribbon tied in a bow at the top
